Domestic Abuse Awareness and Effective Responses

When someone chooses to open up to you, it means they trust you. How you respond in that moment can shape their journey toward safety and healing. This workshop will ensure you are ready, prepared, and empowered to offer the support they need. Through interactive discussions, realistic examples and practical guidance, you'll gain the ability to:

  • Recognise the signs of domestic abuse, even when they are subtle.

  • Understand why survivors don’t ‘just leave’ and how to respond without judgment.

  • Break the silence by creating a culture where survivors feel safe to disclose.

  • Respond effectively when someone shares their experience with you.

  • Set boundaries while still offering compassionate support.

  • Challenge harmful stereotypes and shift the conversation to hold perpetrators accountable.
