Cambridge Women’s Aid offers specialist support to children and their mums. We offer a range of interventions to children, young people and their mums to support their recovery from living with domestic abuse, promote positive relationships and build resilience.

This could include:

• Therapeutic work to promote recovery from distress and healthy emotional processing (individual, group or parent-child work)
• Family support to help mums to understand and support their children more effectively in their emotional recovery and in building more positive family dynamics
• Facilitated play and group work sessions for children in the refuge and in the community which offer fun, positive, safe places to play and socialise, reducing social isolation, offering emotional support, positive experiences, and promoting protective behaviours.

We currently run an established children's service as part of our refuge provision and aim to extend this to offer improved resettlement and outreach services to children and young people in the community.
