Community Power Training

Many survivors of domestic abuse face high barriers to reaching safety, including unequal treatment, not being believed, and even being blamed for the abuse they have received. This workshop focuses on how communities can act together to create safer, more supportive spaces and systems for survivors, so that all survivors can recover and live free from abuse.

You will leave feeling inspired about the impact you can have, with clear ideas for action you can take in your communities to break the silence, raise awareness and ensure that all survivors get the right response when they ask for help. You will learn about:

  • How to map your community and see your potential impact
  • How to recognise and challenge victim blaming
  • The barriers survivors face to reaching safety, and how people's experience of domestic abuse can be compounded by also facing racism, homophobia and other prejudices.
  • The impact of community responses to domestic abuse, and how we can all make a difference.

Upcoming dates

Wednesday 5th of August, from 10am to 1pm in person, Cambridge (Location will be discloused when singing up)
